This is more than a car to me, she is my love. I have just finished rebuilding her (with untold help from my Dad) which has taken us just over two years. She is still far from perfect, but that makes little difference to me as it's been such a long time since I have driven her.
We also just completed our first London to Brighton run together, which was quite an emotional experiance as neither of us thought she would be ready in time.
I would just like to say a very big THANK YOU to every one who helped with this project, including:-
My Dad: Andy Hayward, without him none of this would have been possible.
My Mum: Sue, For all her help with ordering parts for me, lending me all that money, also lending me her car so to let me get to work, and all the love and patience she has.
My Wife: Miriam, for all her patience with me, putting up with boring weekends at home with nothing to do, for calming me down when things didn't go according to plan, and most of all for loving me!
My Bruv: Matt, who has lent me loads of parts from his now deceased mini 'Ambrose', and all the help he has given me on the car.
When I get some time I will write a proper story of Charlie's life, death and re-birth. |
